彼女の作品に使われる素材(薄い和紙、蜜蝋、写真、樹脂…他)は堅牢とは言い難いものが多い。しかし彼女はそれらの素材を巧みにぶつけ合わせる。バレンを使った木版も織り交ぜながら徐々に作品へと変容させてゆく。その工程は太古の時間が閉じ込められた化石や琥珀の成り立ちにも感じられてならない。

Magda de Jose skillfully weaves together the delicate materials in her works; she uses thin Japanese paper, beeswax, photographs, resin, etc. Step by step she slowly builds up the work, weaving it all together in woodblock prints. The process itself reflects the timeless formation of a fossil or amber.
