レベッカ・ソルタはブリストル工科大学卒業後、京都芸術大学に留学し、6年間の滞在中に日本の木版画や紙漉技法に魅了され、木版技法を用いつつ紙の特性を強調した版画に取り組むようになった。現在、英国の中堅作家として活動。その作品は密度の高い実験的手法と素材への豊かな感性に満ちている。

Rebecca Salter studied at Kyoto City University of Arts and stayed in Japan for six years after graduating from Bristol Institute of Technology. While in Japan she was fascinated by the Japanese woodblock print and traditional paper-making technique and started working using woodblock technique with an emphasis on the texture of papers. Her works are full of experimental methods and sensitivity to the material. She is now working in the United Kingdom.
