Rebecca Salter studied at Kyoto City University of Arts and stayed in Japan for six years after graduating from Bristol Institute of Technology. While in Japan she was fascinated by the Japanese woodblock print and traditional paper-making technique and started working using woodblock technique with an emphasis on the texture of papers. Her works are full of experimental methods and sensitivity to the material. She is now working in the United Kingdom.
